Welcome!

We are an academic research group with strong industrial links. We develop and apply synthetic biology technologies to harness the potential of microbial metabolism for society and the bioeconomy.

News
We recently moved (mostly) from Imperial College London to The University of Nottingham!

The group
We are a team of research scientists based at The University of Nottingham and Imperial College London, led by Dr John Heap.

A video introduction
John's presentation at the World Economic Forum gives a short (5 min) non-specialist introduction to some of our research interests and motivations.
